Abstract

What if I am an angry, Black woman? The Declaration of Independence states that Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are humans’ unalienable rights. There are only so many ways to pursue these rights when innocent Black people are murdered and wrongfully imprisoned.  Mountain Gaming is changing the way we engage with oppression and injustice by creating online games where users benefit from rebellious play. Rebellious play describes a type of game play that lets users perform actions that aren’t deemed socially acceptable and could result in prison. Rebellious play is beneficial to one’s psychological health and well-being. It satisfies the three basic psychological needs defined by the Self-Determination Theory.
